According to the 2024 annual report, among the 21 largest enterprises on the Vietnamese stock exchange, women account for only 37.3% of the workforce at Vingroup, yet 59% of leadership positions are held by women. The banking sector has a high female workforce ratio of over 60%, except for Sacombank at 48.28%. However, many banks have fewer than 50% female managers. At Masan Group, the female staff rate reaches 62.4%, but female management is just at 43%. Conversely, at Masan Consumer, only 35.3% are female, yet they hold nearly 43% of managerial positions. This situation indicates that women still face barriers in achieving higher leadership roles, even though Vietnam has a high female labor participation rate of over 70%. Research by ILO in 2021 shows that women occupy only 1/4 of leadership positions while carrying “double responsibilities” at home.
