Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong’s ‘Empire’ Has Only 37.3% Female Staff but Women Hold 59% of Leadership Roles, Banking is a ‘Sanctuary’ for Women Except Sacombank

The 2024 annual report shows that among 21 large companies in Vietnam’s stock market, women account for only 37.3% at Vingroup, yet hold 59% of leadership positions. Heavy industry and technology sectors show a clear male dominance, with Hoa Phat Group having less than 12% women. Conversely, the banking sector has about 60% female staff, except for Sacombank with 48.28%. However, some banks and groups face inequalities in opportunities for women to advance. Despite women constituting a large part of the workforce, they only hold 1/4 of leadership positions.
