On March 25, 2025, Mt. Gox completed a substantial Bitcoin transfer of 11,501 BTC, estimated at about 1 billion USD. This marks the third major transaction from the exchange this month, following earlier transfers of 12,000 BTC and 11,833 BTC on March 6 and March 11, respectively.
This latest move raises speculation around creditor payouts, as it is believed that the creditors may opt to receive their payouts in Bitcoin. According to Arkham Intelligence, Mt. Gox is still retaining approximately 35,000 BTC, which is valued at 3.1 billion USD.
