Nasdaq urges SEC to treat certain digital assets as ‘stocks by any other name’

In a recent letter, Nasdaq suggested that the SEC categorize some digital assets as financial securities, emphasizing that their regulatory treatment should be consistent regardless of their format.

With the new SEC Chair Paul Atkins, a shift in cryptocurrency classification is expected. The SEC has already narrowed its focus, indicating that some tokens, like memecoins and stablecoins, might not be classified as securities.
