New CEO of VinMetal: A member of the Do family who once held the title of ‘steel king’ and sought to collaborate with major players in auto steel

Mr. Do Tien Si has been appointed as the CEO of VinMetal, a subsidiary of Vingroup, replacing Mr. Nguyen Viet Quang. Born in 1967, Mr. Si has over 30 years of experience in the steel industry and previously served as CEO of Pomina, once a top steel brand in Vietnam. Pomina currently faces severe financial challenges, reporting consecutive losses and needing restructuring. Meanwhile, VinMetal was established with a capital of 10 trillion VND, focusing on high-tech steel production for construction and industry, including products for electric vehicles and transportation infrastructure. The company plans to supply steel for major Vingroup projects such as Vinhomes and VinFast while aiming for sustainable development through carbon emissions reduction technologies.
