North Korean hackers targeting crypto projects with unusual Mac exploit

The malware, dubbed ‘NimDoor’, targets Apple devices, seizing control of crypto wallets and browser passwords. This new threat signifies a shift, as Macs were previously seen as less vulnerable to cyberattacks.

Attackers impersonate trusted contacts on messaging apps, sending fake Zoom links to deliver the malware. The cleverly disguised software is difficult to detect, utilizing the Nim programming language.

The trend of sophisticated cyberattacks on Mac systems raises concerns among crypto users. Experts emphasize the importance of security measures as North Korean hacking groups adapt their strategies.
