Nvidia CEO says Chinese AI firms are filling the void left by US companies

Jensen Huang emphasized that Chinese AI firms are becoming increasingly competitive, notably Huawei, which is narrowing the technological gap with the US. The US government’s restrictions are hindering Nvidia’s market position, with initial losses projected to reach $8 billion.

The US Commerce Department’s strict controls are seen as damaging to US firms, pushing them to lose significant market share to Chinese competitors. Huang advocates for more flexible policies to retain talent and encourage innovation within the United States.

With Chinese companies rapidly evolving, Huang noted that they are quadrupling capabilities annually. This growth poses a significant challenge to US dominance in the AI sector, particularly as tech companies in China seek alternatives to US technology.
