Roberto Cordero and Raymond J. Low, two NYPD detectives, are being investigated for their involvement in the kidnapping of Michael Valentino Teofrasto Carturan, who was held for over two weeks by his captors demanding access to his cryptocurrency wallet.
Charges of kidnapping and torture have been filed against Carturan’s captors, John Woeltz and William Duplessie, with an indictment expected to be unsealed soon. Concerns about the detectives’ prior abuse of authority complain point to systemic issues.
