Officially impose anti-dumping tax on galvanized steel products from China and South Korea

On April 1, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam announced a temporary anti-dumping tax on galvanized steel products from China and South Korea. This decision is based on an investigation initiated in June 2024 at the request of five major domestic steel companies. The rates differ, with Chinese products facing up to 37.13% and South Korean products 15.67%. These include flat-rolled carbon steel with carbon content below 0.60% that has been coated or plated with corrosion-resistant metal. For example, Baosteel Zhanjiang faces a 37.13% tax, while Hyundai Steel has a 13.7% tax. Some companies are exempt, such as Boxing Hengrui and POSCO. The decision is effective 15 days after issuance and lasts for 120 days.
