The Vietnamese stock market opened the week in the red due to concerns over the Middle East situation. However, oil stocks like GAS, PLX, PVS, PVD, BSR rose sharply as Brent crude prices exceeded $79 a barrel, an increase of nearly 30% since early June. SSI Research predicts an average oil price of $70-75 per barrel in 2025, supported by OPEC’s production decisions and a recovery in China’s market. Regarding Q2 earnings, PVS forecasts revenue of VND 5,986 billion with a 14% rise in net profit. PVD anticipates revenue of VND 2,425 billion, with a 79% increase in profits. GAS expects revenue of VND 32,415 billion, up 8%, while BSR projects VND 32,295 billion but a 91% drop in profits. PLX forecasts VND 79,264 billion in revenue, but profits are down 35%.
