OpenAI cuts ties with Scale AI amid data labeler’s new Meta deal

OpenAI is terminating its partnership with Scale AI, recently acquired by Meta for 14.8 billion USD. This decision indicates OpenAI’s shift toward alternative data suppliers while minimizing dependency on Scale AI, which historically supported AI training.

Following the acquisition, there are growing concerns from competitors, like Google, regarding Meta gaining an insider advantage in AI development capabilities. Consequently, major players are reconsidering their contracts with Scale AI.
