OpenAI has unveiled an advanced version of Codex that utilizes cloud-based AI agents. Unlike traditional coding tools, these agents can perform multiple programming tasks simultaneously, making development processes faster and more efficient.
According to OpenAI President Greg Brockman, fundamental shifts in software engineering are expected by late 2025. The Codex system will allow developers to focus on high-level tasks while the AI handles debugging and complex coding.
OpenAI aims to further develop Codex by integrating it with issue trackers and other systems, promising to automate more aspects of the development lifecycle, thus changing how software is created and maintained.
