Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has partnered with the Confederation of African Football to sponsor the Africa Cup of Nations tournament being held in Cameroon.
Promoting the exchange through football, the most popular sport on the continent, will be a way to raise awareness of the local people about cryptocurrencies and increase access to cryptocurrency trading through Binance.

China officially labels crypto mining as ‘obsolete’
China’s top economic planning body has officially designated crypto mining as “obsolete,”. This label refers to technologies that would be banned from seeking investment and would need to be phased out in China soon.
The commission did not provide a deadline for crypto mining to be officially eliminated in China – where Bitcoin mining was grown more than anywhere else in the world until last year, when government clampdowns drove the majority of crypto miners out of the country.
Bitcoin mining firm invests $43 million to buy BTC price dip
Canadian cryptocurrency mining firm Bitfarms has announced it invested $43.2 million in bitcoin to buy the dip, after the price of the flagship cryptocurrency dropped around 12% in the first week of the year in a bid to increase the amount of BTC it holds.
Bitfarms’ total BTC holdings was increased 30% to more than 4,300 BTC, worth nearly $180 million.

Cardano reaches goal of planting 1 million trees
The Cardano Foundation, a non-profit that oversees developments on the Cardano network announced that a restoration effort using Cardano (ADA) reached its first goal of planting over 1 million trees.
All trees planted will be recorded on the Cardano blockchain for enhanced transparency and serve as public proof of land restoration.

CZ’s fortune could be significantly larger, as the wealth estimate doesn’t take into account his personal crypto holdings, which include Bitcoin and his firm’s own token – BNB.
Disney patents technology for a theme park Metaverse
Disney has been approved for a patent that would create personalized interactive attractions for theme park visitors.
The tech would work by tracking visitors using their mobile phones, and generating and projecting personalized 3D effects onto nearby physical spaces, walls, and objects in the park.
