Mayer Mizrachi of Panama City hinted at establishing a Bitcoin reserve after discussions with Bitcoin leaders from El Salvador. This revelation comes ahead of the Bitcoin 2025 conference, where Mizrachi will be a speaker.
Panama City recently approved measures allowing cryptocurrencies for public payments. Establishing a Bitcoin reserve at the federal level would require cooperation with the National Assembly, which Mizrachi has yet to pursue.
Discussions led by Mizrachi, along with Keiser and Herbert, included utilizing renewable energy for Bitcoin mining to enhance operations in both countries. Financial education resources were also a topic of interest for Panama City.
