Paul Atkins closes in on SEC chair role amid setbacks: report

Paul Atkins, nominated by President Donald Trump, is approaching his Senate hearing scheduled for March 27. His nomination has faced delays due to financial disclosure issues from his marriage to a billionaire’s family.

With Atkins at the helm, a shift towards a more cooperative regulatory stance for cryptocurrencies is anticipated. Mark Uyeda, the current acting chair, has already enacted significant changes, including the establishment of a Crypto Task Force.
