Pennsylvania lawmakers propose banning public officials from holding and trading cryptocurrencies

Representative Ben Waxman has proposed HB1812 which aims to ban public officials and their immediate family members from holding or trading cryptocurrencies, addressing potential conflicts of interest.

The legislation outlines strict penalties for non-compliance, including fines of up to 50,000 USD and imprisonment for up to five years, as well as a 90-day period for officials to divest their crypto holdings.
