Portrait of Mr. Nguyen Ho Nam Recently Prosecuted and the Billion-Dollar Ecosystem of Bamboo Capital

Mr. Nguyen Ho Nam, former chairman of Bamboo Capital Group (BCG), has been prosecuted. Although he has resigned, he still holds a strategic role and is the largest shareholder of BCG. Born in 1978, Mr. Nam has a solid educational background in finance and banking. BCG was founded by him in 2011, starting with a charter capital of 43 billion VND and has developed into an ecosystem with total capital exceeding 8,820 billion VND.

BCG operates in various fields such as renewable energy, real estate, and finance, expanding through major M&A deals. In 2024, BCG recorded revenue of 4,372 billion VND, with after-tax profit reaching 845 billion VND, due to financial restructuring. Mr. Nam is seen as a sharp businessman, constantly looking for ways to reduce debt and ensure sustainable growth for the company, with significant projects like solar energy and real estate development. Before the prosecution, he often ranked among the richest people on Vietnam’s stock exchange.
