Profile of the Bamboo Capital Chairman who suddenly passed away

Mr. Kou Kok Yiow (Chris), Chairman of Bamboo Capital Group’s Board of Directors, has passed away from a heart attack on March 8. His funeral was held in Singapore, but the news was only disclosed on March 15. Bamboo Capital currently has no new chairman and will announce related decisions soon. Born in 1962 and holding a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the National University of Singapore, Mr. Kou has played a vital role in the company’s development since its establishment. He held over 381,700 BCG shares and fully participated in all board meetings. Recently, Bamboo Capital has experienced significant leadership changes, such as CEO Nguyen Tung Lam’s resignation and former Chairman Nguyen Ho Nam’s investigation by authorities. The company aims to become a leading renewable energy developer in Vietnam with numerous solar and wind projects. In 2024, Bamboo Capital’s projected revenue is 4.372 trillion VND, with profits of nearly 845 billion VND.
