The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam is preparing a roadmap to transition to E10 biofuel, aiming for nationwide implementation on January 1, 2026, to replace conventional gasoline. To prepare, Vietnam Oil Corporation (PVOIL) and Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) will pilot E10 sales in Hanoi, Hai Phong, and Ho Chi Minh City starting August 1. PVOIL will offer E10 RON95, while Petrolimex will operate in 36 stores in Ho Chi Minh City. PVOIL’s leadership stated that the pilot aims to help customers acclimate to the new fuel, minimizing shock during the transition. The company has invested in biofuel blending infrastructure and plans to synchronize E10 sales across its network. Petrolimex emphasized the need for technological and infrastructural preparation for E10 rollout and has coordinated with refineries to ensure a steady supply and reasonable costs. E10 promises to reduce CO₂ emissions and supports the ethanol agriculture sector.
