On May 13, Deputy Chairman of Quang Ngai People’s Committee Tran Phuoc Hien held a meeting with Hòa Phát Dung Quất Steel Company regarding a 14 trillion VND rail steel production project located in the Eastern Dung Quat Industrial Zone. The project spans approximately 18.39 hectares and is facing challenges regarding planning, land clearance, and public assets. The Dung Quat Economic Zone Management Board is working with the investor to finalize necessary procedures. The Deputy Chairman urged relevant agencies to quickly resolve difficulties to ensure the project’s timely execution and assigned the Management Board to seek opinions from the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of National Defense to ensure legal compliance. The zoning plan is expected to be approved at the 34th session of the provincial People’s Council this May. Hòa Phát has invested a total of 7 billion USD in the Dung Quat Economic Zone, and this steel rail project plays a significant role in supplying steel for national transportation infrastructure projects.
