Reuters reports on strategy’s discussions with MSCI regarding index removal

According to Reuters, MSCI is considering removing Strategy from its indices, including the MSCI USA and MSCI World, with a decision expected on January 15, 2026. This could trigger an outflow of up to 8.8 billion USD, heavily affecting passive investment funds.

Michael Saylor, Executive Chairman of Strategy, acknowledged the company’s ongoing discussions but showed uncertainty about JP Morgan’s capital outflow predictions. The decline in Bitcoin prices and economic instability is influencing risk assets, putting pressure on Strategy’s stock, which has dropped over 37% in 2025.
