Sông Ba Hạ Hydropower Company (SBH) has recently drawn public attention after several executives interacted with authorities. Established in 2007 with a charter capital of over 1.24 trillion VND, 61.78% of its capital is owned by EVNGENCO 2. The pre-tax profit for 2024 is reported at 306.45 billion VND, a 50% increase year-on-year, primarily due to increased electricity revenue. Recently, the Board of Directors temporarily assigned responsibilities to other leaders while General Director Nguyễn Đức Phú is on leave. Notably, following severe flooding in November 2023, the plant had to release a significant amount of water, resulting in severe flooding downstream, critically impacting local livelihoods and causing substantial economic losses.
