On June 1, Ripple locked a total of 680 million XRP, with the first transaction involving 470 million XRP (about 1.03 billion USD) and a second transaction with 200 million XRP (approximately 437 million USD). These moves are part of Ripple’s ongoing strategy to maintain market predictability.
Releasing 1 billion XRP monthly helps support operational needs while also mitigating market volatility. The re-escrowing of unused XRP tokens addresses concerns over excess supply affecting market prices, particularly as XRP’s supply is under active management since 2017.
