Russian cryptocurrency regulations set for implementation in July 2026

Russia plans to launch new cryptocurrency regulations in July 2026, which will allow both retail and institutional investors to purchase Bitcoin until mid-2027.

The comprehensive legislative framework is expected to be prepared for voting in the State Duma by the end of June 2026.

Retail investors will face qualification tests and might have an annual purchasing cap of 4,000 USD. Additionally, the central bank will create a whitelist of tradable cryptocurrencies.
