Sabeco is determined to increase the capacity of Cu Chi brewery by 32% to 350 million liters/year after multiple rejections since 2019

Saigon Beer-Alcohol-Beverage Corporation (Sabeco) is currently seeking environmental impact assessment approval for the project to raise the capacity of the Saigon – Cu Chi brewery from 264 million liters/year to 350 million liters/year with total investment of 855 billion VND. The brewery, operational since 2007, initially had a capacity of 100 million liters/year and was increased to 264 million liters in 2011. Plans for the capacity increase began in 2019, facing setbacks with disapproval of the impact report and being temporarily halted due to COVID-19. Recently, Sabeco submitted the impact report for the second time, but it is still under review. The brewery currently operates below its capacity, achieving only 179.2 million liters in 2023, with expectations to reach 211 million liters in 2025. The capacity upgrade project is slated for approval in Q4 2025 and completion by Q4 2026-Q1 2027.
