On January 21, 2026, SagaEVM experienced a significant security breach. Hackers exploited contract deployments, leading to the theft of nearly 7 million USD worth of cryptocurrencies including ETH. The stolen assets were converted into ETH and transferred to a specified wallet address.
In response to the attack, SagaEVM suspended its operations at block height 6,593,800. The official team is actively coordinating with exchanges to block the hacker’s wallet address, ensuring that the Saga SSC mainnet and other chains remained unaffected by this breach.
