Samsung is expected to report a 39% drop in Q2 profit

Samsung is forecasting a 39% decline in its second-quarter operating profit, which is projected to be around 6.3 trillion won (4.62 billion USD). This downturn is attributed to delays in supplying AI memory chips to Nvidia.

The ongoing US export regulations and the slow approval process from Nvidia have adversely affected Samsung’s chip sales. The company is facing uncertainties due to the rising tensions in international trade.

While Samsung struggles, competitors like SK Hynix and Micron are benefiting from increased demand for AI chips. Samsung’s reliance on the Chinese market presents additional challenges due to heightened US restrictions.
