Based on the resolutions of the National Assembly and the Government, SCIC has disbursed 7.77 trillion VND to purchase shares of Vietnam Airlines. This investment reinforces the charter capital, ensures stable long-term cash flow, and helps the company escape negative equity. Previously, in September 2021, SCIC invested 6.894 trillion VND to improve liquidity for Vietnam Airlines amid the Covid-19 pandemic. After two investments, SCIC holds 47.09% of Vietnam Airlines’ equity. This action not only demonstrates support for state-owned enterprises but also affirms SCIC’s role in the economy. With a charter capital of over 50 trillion VND, SCIC has maintained positive business results and plans to enhance the efficiency of state enterprises.
