SEC delays decision on Solana ETF filings, opens for public comments

The U.S. SEC has delayed its decision on four Solana ETF proposals from 21Shares, Bitwise, Canary, and VanEck. A public comment period has opened to collect broader feedback on these filings, a standard procedure in the SEC’s evaluation process.

This delay illustrates significant regulatory uncertainties regarding Solana’s classification as an unregistered security. The SEC’s prior rejections in 2024 still impact the current evaluation, but public comments might sway the decision in favor of approval, as was the case with Ethereum ETFs.
