SEC’s Atkins wants to let firms custody, trade Bitcoin and securities under one roof

Paul Atkins highlighted during a recent conference that the SEC should permit registered firms to custody and trade Bitcoin and securities together, which would streamline processes and lower investor costs.

The SEC is in the process of drafting new rules for cryptocurrencies and plans to integrate its innovation functions across the organization, moving away from previous enforcement-focused strategies.
