Several major companies such as PV GAS, BSR, and ACV have announced their inability to maintain public company status on the Vietnamese stock exchange due to insufficient small shareholder ownership, failing to meet the minimum requirement of 10%. PV GAS has 17,495 shareholders, yet the parent company PVN holds 95.76% of the shares. Similarly, BSR and many other large companies find themselves in a similar situation, dominated by large shareholders, including state-owned enterprises. In 2025, many companies are expected to have to file for the cancellation of their public company status if they do not meet ownership structure requirements. Currently, these companies are exploring methods to restructure their shareholders to avoid being delisted from the stock markets.
