On May 21, prominent stocks such as Vinhomes (VHM), Vietnam Airlines (HVN), Novaland (NVL), and Gelex (GEX) surged to their ceiling prices. HVN also climbed to 36,450 VND/share, pushing its market capitalization to nearly 81 trillion VND due to plans for a public share issue to reduce debt and invest in 50 new planes. NVL returned to its highest level since September 2024 but remains below its historical peak from 2021, with a market cap of around 25 trillion VND as it plans a debt-equity swap. GEX also saw substantial growth, with a price of 32,500 VND/share and a market cap of 28 trillion VND, marking an 82% increase this year. The current stock market reflects a significant divergence among stocks, creating opportunities for some while others struggle.
