South Korean courts explore updating personal bankruptcy guidelines to exclude cryptocurrency debts

New guidelines under consideration in South Korean courts may soon allow the exclusion of cryptocurrency debts from personal bankruptcy proceedings.

The Suwon and Busan courts are reclassifying personal investment losses in crypto and stocks as general property losses.

The intent of these changes is to prevent debtors from misrepresenting their investments to deceive the courts.
