Police in South Korea arrested two individuals for stealing 22 Bitcoins from their evidence vault. This theft was possible due to improper storage of assets, which were not secured in a regulated hardware wallet.
The Bitcoins were seized during an investigation into the A Coin Foundation hack in November 2021. A previous officer involved received an 18-month prison sentence in August 2024 for accepting bribes.
