South Korean prosecutors’ office investigates loss of hundreds of billions of won in Bitcoin seized

On January 25th, South Korean media reported that the Gwangju District Prosecutors’ Office lost a large amount of Bitcoin. This loss was identified during an inspection of seized assets, revealing potential irregularities with Bitcoin passwords.

The prosecution’s internal investigation is underway. Although officials could not confirm the exact sum, discussions indicate that the lost Bitcoin could be worth up to 70 billion Korean won.
