Nguyen Duy Hung, Chairman of SSI, emphasized the potential and pitfalls of digital assets, stating that this field contains many traps that individuals must approach with caution. This statement came in light of the government’s issuance of Resolution No. 5/2025/NQ-CP regarding the pilot implementation of the cryptocurrency market in Vietnam, effective from September 9, 2025, and lasting for five years. The resolution outlines regulations for the issuance, trading, and management of digital assets. Entities participating in the pilot include authorized individuals and organizations. Notably, service providers must have at least 65% of their capital from financial organizations. Numerous securities firms, including SSI, are preparing to enter this promising market by establishing subsidiary companies in the blockchain sector. By 2022, SSI established SSI Digital and recently formed collaborations with major organizations to enhance the digital finance infrastructure. Securities firms VIX and Techcom have also taken similar steps, increasing their capital and expanding into the digital asset space.
