On the evening of May 12, 2025, Strategy announced that between May 5 and May 11, it spent $1.34 billion in cash to accumulate an additional 13,390 BTC, at an average purchase price of $99,856 per BTC.
With this latest purchase, Strategy has increased its total Bitcoin holdings to 568,840 BTC (equivalent to $59.1 billion), with an average acquisition cost of $69,287 per BTC.
Japanese investment firm Metaplanet also recently completed a new purchase of 1,241 BTC worth over $100 million, at an average price of $95,000, marking its ninth accumulation in just the past month.
Meanwhile, institutional demand for Bitcoin ETFs remains strong—and is in fact heating up. For the week ending May 9, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded a total net inflow of $934.17 million, marking the fourth consecutive week of positive inflows.
