Tay Ninh Province Approves BAF to Implement Vietnam’s First “Pig Housing Apartment”: Producing 100,000 Pigs Annually with Just 95 Workers on 6.7 Hectares – 10 Times More Efficient

Tay Ninh Province has approved the establishment of Vietnam’s first “pig housing apartment” by BAF Food Processing Company. This model features a 6-story design, saving land area with only 6.7 hectares needed to produce 100,000 pigs annually, optimizing labor to 95 workers. BAF plans to build an integrated complex of 1,550 hectares with 4 buildings, housing 64,000 sow pigs and 1.6 million market pigs, along with a feed production factory. The model not only saves land but also reduces production costs by 20-30% through automation. BAF collaborates with Muyuan from China, who has successfully implemented this model and aims to expand to 450,000 sow pigs and 10 million market pigs by 2030. The initial investment cost for this high-rise model is 45-50% higher than traditional farms, but it significantly saves on land and labor costs, while enhancing biosecurity, which is crucial amidst disease outbreaks. BAF also plans to expand to other provinces.
