The ‘Empire’ of Pham Nhat Vuong has only 37.3% female personnel but female leaders account for 59%, while banks are ‘sanctuaries’ for women except for Sacombank

The 2024 annual report shows that among the 21 largest companies in Vietnam, female employees make up only 37.3% at Vingroup (VIC), yet 59% of management positions are held by women. Pham Nhat Vuong believes women have superior skills in fields such as finance and management. Conversely, Masan Group (MSN) has 62.4% female personnel but only 43% are female managers. In the banking sector, the average ratio of female personnel is around 60%, but Sacombank has the lowest ratio with 48.28% female personnel and only 24.1% in leadership roles. This indicates that inequality persists, especially as women bear the “double burden” between work and home responsibilities. Vietnam has a high rate of women in the workforce, but the leadership positions are significantly lower compared to men.
