The EU is moving to ban all anonymous crypto accounts by 2027. Service providers will have to adopt KYC procedures and tightly monitor transactions by 2030, particularly aimed at cryptocurrencies like Monero (XMR) and ZCash (ZEC), which may face significant restrictions under new AML legislation.
The implementation of these MiCA regulations will vary among EU member states, with some, like Malta, given up to 18 months to comply with specific measures. The regulations will ensure that crypto services align closely with the standards set for traditional banking.
