After their release from prison, several wealthy Vietnamese have made notable comebacks. Nguyen Khanh Hung, former Chairman of LDG, returned and saw LDG’s stock peak continuously due to a new business plan targeting revenue of 1.8 trillion VND in 2025. LDG is currently executing several large projects, though it has faced significant losses and potential bankruptcy recently. Similarly, Do Anh Dung, Chairman of Tan Hoang Minh, proposed numerous large-scale projects in Khanh Hoa and Quang Binh after being pardoned. Recovery after legal troubles isn’t uncommon in Vietnam, with notable examples like Duong Ngoc Minh, the “catfish king,” who rebuilt his career after serving time, and Le Minh Hai, who embarked on large projects after his release. The return of these tycoons is drawing attention in the investment community, reviving interest in various stocks.
