Trinidad and Tobago Parliament approves cryptocurrency regulatory bill

The Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago has passed the ‘Virtual Assets and Virtual Asset Service Providers Act 2025’ to regulate cryptocurrencies and related services.

This legislation sets up a licensing framework for virtual asset activities, introduced by the Finance Minister in September.

The regulation supports compliance with anti-money laundering standards, crucial for upcoming evaluations by the Caribbean Financial Action Task Force.
