U.S. Treasury now accepts Venmo and PayPal donations

The U.S. Treasury has added Venmo and PayPal as accepted donation methods to repay national debt totaling $36.70 trillion. Americans have donated $67.3 million over 29 years, reflecting a more symbolic role rather than addressing the debt directly.

This initiative encourages participation with donations allowed up to 999,999.99 USD via Venmo. However, reactions from markets remain muted, with contributions seen as symbolic acts rather than significant financial solutions to the debt issue.
