US and China Reach Preliminary Trade Framework After London Talks
The United States and China have agreed in principle on a framework related to trade following two days of negotiations in London, according to China’s Vice Commerce Minister Li Chenggang.
Li stated that the framework is intended to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of both countries during a phone call on June 5 and at a prior meeting in Geneva. The outcome of the London talks will now be reported back to the respective heads of state for further review.
“The two sides have, in principle, reached a framework for implementing the consensus reached by the two heads of state during the phone call on June 5th and the consensus reached at the Geneva meeting,” Li told reporters.
No further details on the content of the framework were disclosed.
