US inflation falls below 3% for the first time in 4 years

The US reported a significant inflation decline to 2.4% in March 2025, marking the lowest inflation rate in four years. This downturn was primarily influenced by a 6.3% drop in gas prices.

The Consumer Price Index reflected a 0.1% decrease, indicating slower inflation growth. While core inflation slightly rose to 2.8%, food prices continued to rise with an increase of 0.4%.

Shelter costs rose just 0.2%, the lowest increase observed recently. Used car prices decreased by 0.7%, whereas new vehicle prices saw a slight boost of 0.1%.
