On March 15, Hester M. Peirce, a commissioner of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, announced that a study on the ‘innovation exemption’ for tokenized securities has begun. This scheme aims to support limited trading and testing of tokenized securities.
Peirce stressed the importance of evaluating disclosure requirements and the involvement of third parties in token issuance, while cautioning regulators against over-regulation of private capital allocation.
