US Senate Banking Committee to vote on crypto market structure bill next month

Senator Tim Scott revealed the Senate Banking Committee will vote on the Crypto Market Structure Act next month, with hopes for its submission to the full Senate to receive a presidential signature by early 2026.

The proposed legislation will clarify the regulatory boundaries between the SEC and CFTC and will introduce the term ‘auxiliary assets’ to categorize certain crypto assets not deemed securities.
