Vietnam Container Corporation (Viconship, ticker symbol VSC) and Hải An Transport and Loading Joint Stock Company (ticker HAH) have decided to establish a new joint venture called Hải An Green Shipping Lines LLC. Viconship will contribute 60%, while Hải An will contribute 40% to this company, with a charter capital of 1 trillion VND, headquartered in Hải Phòng. The goal of the joint venture is to build large ocean-going vessels to expand operations on international shipping routes, with an estimated investment of nearly $180 million to build a pair of 7000 TEUs vessels. This collaboration aims to enhance fleet size, reduce transportation costs, and optimize port operations. Viconship and Hải An have a sustainable cooperative relationship as both entities complement each other: Viconship has port systems while Hải An owns the cargo shipping fleet. They have also reached an agreement on freight rates to ensure a fair competitive environment.
