On June 3, 2025, the State Bank of Vietnam approved Vietbank to raise its charter capital to a maximum of 10.9197 trillion VND, from the previous 7.139 trillion VND. Vietbank will increase capital by 3.780 trillion VND through share issuance, including 1.071 trillion VND from equity and 2.709 trillion VND for existing shareholders. Bank leadership stated that the capital increase is necessary to comply with safe capital regulations and enhance governance capabilities for sustainable development. The funds will be invested in fixed assets, information technology, and network expansion. By the end of Q1 2025, Vietbank reported a pre-tax profit of 248 billion VND, 3.4 times higher than the same period last year, with total assets of 174.377 trillion VND, a 7% increase.
