Vietnam Airlines Shareholders’ Meeting Approves Capital Increase of 9 Trillion VND and Invests 3.6 Billion USD to Purchase 50 Aircraft

On May 15, 2025, Vietnam Airlines held an extraordinary shareholders’ meeting to approve a capital increase plan of 9 trillion VND and an investment in 50 narrow-body aircraft. Specifically, the company will issue 900 million shares to existing shareholders at a price of 10,000 VND per share to pay off debts and improve financial capacity. This plan is the first phase of a maximum capital increase of 22 trillion VND, with the second phase expected in 2026.

Additionally, the company approved a plan to purchase 50 new-generation narrow-body aircraft with a total investment of nearly 3.6 billion USD. The delivery is scheduled from 2030 to 2032. Chairman Dang Ngoc Hoa stated that global aircraft demand is increasing, and Vietnam Airlines will seize this opportunity to expand its fleet. In the meantime, the company will lease aircraft to ensure operational continuity.
